The University of Pittsburgh School of Law invites applications for a teaching position full or assistant professor, associate for teaching and leadership, School of Health Law Clinic clinical field time. Although this position was not in the flow of the office, part of a system of renewable contracts on long-term contracts. The position will begin on July 1, 2015.
The primary objective of the clinic is an opportunity for learning through experience for our students, while seeking legal advice for low-income people who create in case of dispute or health promotion. The clinical features are the class teachers, including the ability to teach the doctrine; Monitoring of the law students of the second and third year as they represent clients and to community projects; Health Law Clinic administrative tasks; Awareness and fundraising community; and participation in the leadership of the Faculty of Law. The candidate for the position have hired have the opportunity to make the future direction of the hospital. Therefore, all candidates must be willing to have a vision of the type of clinic wait implementation at present. Examples may include a forensic association, focuses primarily on the clinical presentation of disability claimants administrative hearings Medicaid or Social Security, or other specific areas of representation and defense.
Practice requirements for entry into Pennsylvania or desire to seek admission to the bar of Pennsylvania; great experience in the field of health law and preferably clinical teaching; very good knowledge of monitoring and reporting; the ability to work effectively with students, customers and other constituents; and an interest in the development of clinical student learns Clinic Health law in a community that supports interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative educational programs.
