E-cigarettes should be banned for minors and should be used only as a last resort, to quit smoking, says the American Heart Association in a new policy statement. And the Food and Drug Administration, should hurry to regulate them, the group says. "Over the past 50 years, 20 million Americans have died from smoking. Violently are determined to prevent the industry from dependence to another generation of smokers snuff", Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association, said in a statement. "Recent studies concerns that electronic cigarettes may be a gateway to traditional products for the youth of the nation snuff and snuff consumption could renormalize in our society."
The Food and Drug Administration says it plans to regulate electronic cigarettes with cigars and other products of snuff. Many harm using electronic cigarettes regulators "vapers" say, a product which is a much safer substitute for cigarettes. The Heart Association agree. "In the years since the FDA first announced that they exercise authority over electronic cigarettes, the market has increased dramatically for these products," Brown said. "We fear that any further delay in this new legislation will have real consequences of the ongoing public health."
