Reproductive Health and Rights Revisited

The Director of Operations of Global Media Foundation, Victor Fosu Boamah, stressed the need for young people and people of childbearing age on reproductive rights in order to make informed decisions and have a sense of right for use to provide rights-based approach in the provision of services.

According to him, the lack of privacy and confidentiality, because youthful embarrassment staff receive some health centers are adequately advised of condescending reproductive health services.

Mr. Fosu Boamah spoke Chiraa in Sunyani West District of Brong Ahafo-at a forum of health by young people for young people of the Global Media Foundation (GLOMeF) organized as part of activities for the International Youth Day this year. \

The program was part Abortion Fund (SAAF) / GlomeF three-year project entitled A Case for youth access to safe abortion and contraception services in Ghana, which is currently implemented in 21 municipalities Brong Ahafo.

Asked Mr. Fosu Boamah behavior change strategies and appropriate and effective communication for women and young people to ensure a positive change in behavior at home.

He stressed the need for training throughout the year on reproductive health in schools, communities, churches and other places, a key element to reduce the high number of illegal abortions and dangerous levels in youth, especially teenagers.
