Tim Farron: Stop the silence on mental health

Writing for the Huffington Post, spoke of his commitment to the fight against the mental health of the Liberal Democrats, Tim Farron:

Mental health services are absolutely necessary, but finding tragically swept under the carpet too frequently. This silence ended. Costs lives, divides our society and youth concerns. We must have the courage to open our eyes to the truth about the mental health law.

But I write this piece as a local MP, not as President of the Liberal Democrats. In my surgery on a Friday or Saturday morning, I meet a lot of voters I have spoken to a variety of problems. Those who are keeping me young people with mental health problems who have no idea where to go or how to get the support they need to get.

Thus, there are events that have a particularly deep and lasting effect on me - the death of young people who are struggling with mental health problems. These tragic events and circumstances that serious shortcomings in the way we support our young people and the need for a new vision of our local services. Improvements should be made.

Well said.
