When comparing the costs: health care in the city

Mobile, Alabama. (WALA) Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpon proposed salary increases for city employees, but also an increase in insurance premiums. Stimpson says the rise of the insurance is justified.

"... If you compare what other cities do what the private sector that happens the market., This is definitely the Market", Stimpson said.

If the proposed budget is passed, Stimpson, from January 2015, all current city employees pay 20% of the cost of health care and the city would pay 80%. This represents an increase of around 16% of the employee to pay now. All new employees should pay more. New hires 40% of the city 60% of the cost of health care.

Fairhope City pays 100% of the cost of health care for all employees.
