A partnership between the University and Pikeville WKU three master's degrees in health care, the students in Kentucky and programs is to give students access UPIKE be WKU College of Optometry.
UPIKE President James L. Hurley and WKU President Gary A. Ransdell made the announcement on Thursday (28 August) on the campus of Pikeville.
"Dr. Hurley and I began a year ago talking about WKU and UPIKE could work together, and I'm glad we fast to three programs that he and his actors to implement priority than" said Dr. Ransdell.

WKU will begin a program of Pathology (SLP) Speech-Language, so this fall, the all requirement that students must qualify for the Master's degree program in communication disorders that will be in autumn 2015 SLP courses and comprises two master programs are completely online. The MSc program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The MBA in Health Care (MHA) will also be available in the fall of 2015, the online program is today UPIKE designed for medical students and those who have completed their residency programs to meet both the MHA and its title health at the same time. The program is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.
In the fall of 2016, the WKU Master of Social Work UPIKE will offer a Web-based format. WKU MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
UPIKE also provides access to students pursuing a career in optometry WKU.
"The University of Pikeville is the development of a pre-optometry and track offers five year guaranteed recording slots for WKU students who meet the program criteria," said Dr. Hurley. "It is similar to our Osteopathic Medical Scholarship Program, which provides admission to the University of Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine guaranteed. Since our medical school, the mission of Kentucky College of Optometry will focus on access to health care, rural health. As the only college of optometry in Kentucky and 22 schools in the nation, our first "off campus" guaranteed approval program would opportunities for WKU students and also the need for optometrists in the western part of the state. The WKU programs are housed in the College of Health and Human Services.

"The offer by distance learning, these programs can help critical needs in Kentucky, including lack of speech therapists and social workers in the area of Pikeville.
