How digestion works?

how-does-digestion-work

Garbage go for lunch today and the high rates of digestive disorders that affect the nation, it is clear that the importance of digestion is not included. Digestion is a process that affect our quality of life, plays a direct role in mental health and mood. [1] Basically, the digestion begins when our health, and recent research has shown that this is made glaringly obvious. See how the digestive system does its job and the most important factors that you know when it comes to protecting your digestion must discuss.

The process of digestion

The digestion process involves three basic steps: the top phase, the phase center of the gastric and intestinal phase. Here are some of the key discussion points are related to each phase:

  • The mouth. Chewing, the enzymes in your mouth starts digestion to break down food. Amylase is one of the key enzymes in the saliva, the (thickness) helps in the digestion of carbohydrates.
  • The esophagus. This long AIDS, muscular tube in the passage of food from the mouth to the stomach. Hydrochloric acid will continue the food particles while killing germs and protein denaturation. Because of the high acidity of hydrochloric acid, a protective layer of tissue from the lining of the stomach to safeguard acid erosion and ulcers.
  • , The small intestine. As soon as the food traveled on the stomach and has the effect of hydrochloric acid was subjected to, then the contents to move into the small intestine. This is the main body, which is responsible for the intake of calories, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and proteins. Small finger-like projections called online "villi" small to provide protection and facilitate absorption intestine. The small intestine is responsible also a wide range of beneficial bacteria for digestion, particularly Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.
  • The colon. This is the final step in digestion. Once the nutrients have been absorbed in the small intestine, the remaining waste moves through the large intestine before eliminated. Water and salts are taken up again before disposal.

Components

During digestion requires the three steps mentioned above, also requires four essential components of the stomach, enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, and.

Enzymes

Digestive enzymes break down into smaller molecules that can be absorbed by the body parts. These enzymes can be classified as follows:

  • Protease - breaks down proteins into amino acids
  • Lipase - degraded lipids (fats) into fatty acids
  • Amylase - breaks down carbohydrates, starches and sugars into simple monomers

Those who are deficient in these enzymes, or those who suffer from a deficiency in the enzyme function, can benefit from enzyme supplements [2].

Probiotics

These colonies of bacteria, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are the most common, play an important role in digestion. Probiotics aid in the synthesis of vitamin K, Vitamin B12, biotin and (B1) used for digestion of food to denature protein and anti-microbial kill. Some studies even suggest that probiotics balance mood. [3] [4] [5] This effect is observed with respect to the neurotransmitter serotonin, which is found mainly in the gastrointestinal system.

Prebiotics

This "bionic" foods are essentially probiotic colonies. [6] In general, the prebiotic fibers are pectin and help with the feeding and development of probiotic bacteria. Some probiotic supplements are with prebiotics, an alleged increase in the effectiveness of probiotic bacteria.
